uncommon elegance - eveningwear
Uncommon Elegance is the culmination of 6 months of work on a hand detailed collection of evening gowns inspired by the Sedlec Ossuary. This project was my Senior collection at UNT, thus it was shown in UNT’s annual student fashion show: Art Wear.
To give the gowns a more interesting and delicate note, I actually created the fabric pattern which resembles X-rayed bones by using a Japanese tie-dye technique called Bomaki shibori on black cotton sateen in a bleach bath. Two of the gowns were also completed with traditional couture support bodices and bust stays.
