prep punk - menswear

Inspired by the punk movement of 1970’s Great Britain, my menswear collection from my Senior year at UNT is a play on the clashing contrast between traditional “punk” versus clean cut “prep” aesthetics. Thus the title, “Prep Punk” is a play on words relating to the music genre of

“pop punk”.

Made with grey cotton broadcloth and a thick, loose basket weave polyester, the shirt is simple, with an edge. The long collar points are reminiscent of the decade its inspired by and the floral detail on the pocket was done using iron-on transfer paper printed with an image drawn in Adobe Illustrator.
